22nd March 2019

Well, what a week it has been in school!
Our upper junior children all had a fantastic time climbing with Mr Stafford-Roberts and Rebecca from Tower Wood; both days started at Borwick Hall Outdoor Education Centre, and finished at Hutton Roof crags.
On Tuesday, the infants had a visit from Mrs Park and a newborn lamb, and on Wednesday morning, they continued their forest school activities.
We hope all the choir singers have had a wonderful day at our cluster choir event at Brookhouse Methodist Chapel – and the parents enjoyed the performance at the end of the day, we look forward to hearing all about it next week!

Thank you – thank you so much for the kind words and generosity of the junior parents on Monday. We were immensely touched and overwhelmed and have not stopped smiling since! Working together with your children has been a real joy. Thank you for all your support. Mrs Tidd & Mrs Stalker.

Edinburgh Residential Visit – just a reminder to parents that the final balance needs to be paid by next Friday 29th March. Please do come and talk to us if payment within this timescale is difficult. You can pay by cash, cheque or via the SchoolMoney service.

Fitness Fun – many thanks to Miss Bartle for stepping in and running the after school club on Monday. Mrs Eccleston is away again this week, but after school cover will be provided by Mrs Mather.

Parent Help MorningSaturday 30th March – from 9.30am. Parent help would be greatly appreciated at school – we will be clearing the pond and garden, washing the yurt, the infant decking and small patio area, there is also a small area of wall which needs rebuilding if anyone has any expertise in that area, as well as some general maintenance jobs. We intend to start from 9.30am onwards and finish by lunchtime. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible – well behaved, helpful children are always welcome to come along too!

Easter Activity Day – Wednesday 3rd April – the children will need to bring in their decorated egg entry. There will be prizes for infants, lower juniors and upper juniors. They will also need a hardboiled egg for pace egging in the afternoon.
As usual, there will be a range of craft activities in the morning and in the afternoon, there is the egg challenge, followed by the Easter Egg Hunt, with a separate Easter Egg Hunt for toddlers and nursery children. Any pre-school children that might want to join in the Easter Egg Hunt are welcome to join us at 2.30pm.
