15th November 2019

We’ve had a very busy week at school; we’ll start by saying what an enjoyable day the juniors had at Tower Wood, the upper juniors were working towards their sailing qualifications, whilst the lower juniors paddled in canoes and did some tree climbing and abseiling – photos can be seen on our Facebook page.
This week we joined the nation to participate in ‘National Anti-Bullying Week’. We have had class discussions and assemblies based on the theme for this year ‘Change Starts With Us’. The junior children had a wonderful way of embracing the theme – they each had a secret buddy to look out for and be kind to for the week – we’ll see on Monday if children correctly identified their buddy!
On Tuesday, 16 children joined us for a sunny but chilly walk to school. Thank you to the parents and pre-school children who joined us too!
Our infant children continued their Forest School journey on Tuesday afternoon – their next session is Monday 25th November with our friends from Hornby St Margaret’s.
Thank you to all the parents who took the time to speak to our SIAMs inspector on Thursday, we will let you know the outcome as soon as we have any information.

Boxes of Hope – we sent off 10 boxes to Romania this week – we hope they bring some joy to children in Romania this Christmas.
Thank you to all those children who brought them in.

Poppy Appeal – a huge thank you to all who donated to the poppy appeal, it was lovely to see so many of the children wearing poppies or bracelets.

Welfare Assistant – we have a vacancy for a welfare assistant on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 11.45am – 1.15pm (term time only). We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break.  Please contact the office for more details.

Schools can raise amazing amounts of money through this scheme.  It works by parents and family members using easyfundraising.org.uk as a first step to find the retailer they want to buy from online. When you visit a website to buy something via this page it will register your sale. Easy Fundraising will receive a donation based on the value of your order which will be passed onto your chosen charity or school. All you need to do is create an account on www.easyfundraising.org.uk; log onto the website and set your cause to St Peters C E Primary School Leck. You don’t have to go through the Easy Fundraising website each time, once you have registered there is a free app you can download for your smart phone or tablet, so it really couldn’t be easier!
