29th November 2019
This week has been a busier week in school, infant children from Hornby St Margaret’s joined us for Forest School on Monday, children took some beautiful nature photographs and put their artistic skills to the test by sketching them out.
On Wednesday, the children all enjoyed the Christmas activity day and produced some wonderful displays. Thursday saw our infant children head down to Hornby St Margaret’s to join their infant class for an owl presentation from Lancashire Hawks and Owls, the children were all very brave – pictures can be seen on our Facebook page.
SIAMS Report – enclosed in this week’s Friday bag you will find a copy of our official SIAMS Report which we are pleased to share with you all; we are very happy with the outcome of the report.
Welfare Assistant – we have a vacancy for a welfare assistant on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 11.45am – 1.15pm (term time only). We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break. Please contact the office for more details.
Christmas Post Box – the post box will open from Monday 2nd December, for your children to send Christmas cards to each other. Please ensure the envelopes are clearly named with the recipient’s full name and class so our posties are able to deliver!
Leck Playgroup Visit – Leck playgroup will be visiting school on Monday 2nd December from 9.30am – 11.30am, please stay with younger siblings and tell any friends and family members to come along too.
Walk to School Breakfast Trek – our next “Walk to School” is this Tuesday at 8.20am from Cowan Bridge Village Hall. Those taking part will be rewarded with a lovely breakfast when they arrive at school.
Cluster Advent Reflection – on Wednesday we will be welcoming some KS1 children from our cluster of schools to take part in a day of ‘Advent Reflection’. This will be forest school based so please send children with appropriate outdoor clothing suitable for the weather. If they have waterproof trousers please send them, as the ground is often damp even if it’s not actually raining. A hat, scarf and gloves may be useful too, given the cold, windy weather we’ve had recently.
Glass Jars – all infant children will need a glass jar for our Advent Reflection Day on Wednesday. Thank you.
Christmas Performance – the highlight of the festive school calendar is nearly upon us with this year’s eagerly anticipated Christmas production – ‘Rejoice’. As with previous years, there will be two performances; both on Wednesday 11th December in the school hall at 2.00pm and 6.00pm.
As we expect the evening performance to be popular, we need an idea of numbers attending. For this purpose, you will find a reply slip enclosed in this week’s bag for completion and return by Monday 2nd December please. If you have pre-school children who would like to watch, if possible, please bring them to the afternoon performance.
Christmas Pantomime – this year, the whole school will be watching “Cinderella” at the Dukes Theatre on Friday 20th December. Further information regarding the trip will follow shortly.
The total cost of the trip is £15.00, but as the PTFA have kindly agreed to fund the transport, we are asking parents for a contribution of £10.00 per child. Please send cash or cheques made payable to Leck St Peter’s CE Primary School.
Willow Tunnel – our willow tunnel is in need of attention; we are seeking someone with a chainsaw to prune the tunnel – please see Mrs Mather if you are able to help. Thank you.
