This week has been relatively quiet in school. The infants enjoyed their Forest School session on Tuesday afternoon.
PSHE & SRE – there is a letter and information leaflet from Mrs Browne in this week’s Friday bag. Please take the time to read through and return the reply slip if you are able to attend the meeting on 26th February. Thank you.
Welfare Assistant – we have a vacancy for a welfare assistant on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 11.45am – 1.15pm (term time only). We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break. Please contact the office for more details.
REMINDER: Easter Craft Club – after half term Mrs Mather will be starting an Easter craft club, which will run at lunchtimes on a Tuesday (or Monday if we’re out of school). Children will be making a range of different crafts. The cost for 5 weeks is £10.00 which covers all materials. Please return the slip by Monday if your child/ren would like to join so that resources can be ordered. Many thanks.
Lancashire Library Bus Visit – the library bus will be visiting school on Tuesday 28th January for children to swap or renew library books.
Bag2School – the Bag2School collection has been arranged for next Thursday. They accept good quality adult and children’s clothing, paired shoes, hats, bags, belts, ties and soft toys. No bedding, curtains, towels or bric-a-brac please. Bags should be brought into school before 9am.
Upper Junior Caving Day – our year 5 & 6 children will be experiencing an introduction to caving on Wednesday 5th February. An experienced instructor from Tower Wood Outdoor Centre will lead, along with Mr Stafford-Roberts and will take place at a cave in the Yorkshire Dales chosen by the instructor, dependant on the weather. Parents of the children involved will find a full information sheet in next week’s bag. Please come and see Mr Stafford-Roberts if you have any queries or concerns.
Lower Junior Football at Arkholme – our lower junior children have been invited to take part in a 5-aside football tournament at Arkholme on Wednesday 5th February. Children will be asked early next week to volunteer, full information sheets will be enclosed in next week’s bag for those taking part.
Life Education – once again, Coram Life Education will be visiting school on Friday 14th February.
There is a leaflet enclosed in this week’s bag which gives a little oversight into what children gain out of the experience. Parents are more than welcome to attend a specifically planned session between 8.55am to 9.10am to hear more about the programme.
Parent / Carers Evening Out – an evening out has been arranged at the Royal Hotel in Kirkby Lonsdale for Wednesday 5th February (time TBC). If you are interested please let Amanda Park know. A menu will be displayed outside the office when it is available.
