13th March 2020
This week has been relatively quiet in school.
Thank you to all the parents who came along to our Parent Help Morning last Saturday, we managed to get a few jobs ticked off the list.
The library bus visited on Tuesday; due to how Easter falls our next visit is scheduled for Tuesday 21st April.
Annual Parent Questionnaire – the Parental Questionnaire is in your child’s Friday bag this week; please can you complete and return to school no later than Monday 23rd March. Thank you.
Coronavirus – COVID-19 – we want to reassure all parents that we are following the national situation carefully and checking the daily bulletins sent to us by the Department for Education for any updates or changes. School will remain open and function as normal unless we are told otherwise.
In the meantime, please encourage your children to wash their hands with soap and water regularly. Do not send in hand sanitiser. This isn’t safe for young children to have in school and isn’t as effective as soap.
We have also posted some links in the parent advice section of the website which may be useful to you. We will use our text service for breaking updates and post other relevant links on the website.
Welfare Assistant – we are desperate for a welfare assistant on to join us on a Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 11.45am – 1.15pm (term time only). We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break. Please contact the office for more details.
We are looking to appoint two welfare assistants on a Friday, school staff are currently covering this.
Bikeability Training – this Monday and Tuesday all Y5 & 6s will be participating in Bikeability Training – please can parents ensure that bikes are roadworthy, using the ‘M’ checklist previously sent out.
Children should come to school dressed in appropriate outdoor clothing with their safety helmet and bicycle. Bike locks can also be brought to school to lock bikes on the rack or they can be kept inside the hall overnight.
PTFA Meeting – our wonderful PTFA have planned a meeting for Tuesday 17th March from 2.45pm, please do try to come along as we will be organising for the upcoming Bunny Drive and making plans for the summer term ahead.
PTFA Mufti-Day – children can come to school in their own clothes on Friday 20th March, in return for a donation to the Easter hampers, which will be raffled at the Bunny Drive the following week. Thank you.
Mother’s Day Tea – we would like to invite all Mums to join us as we celebrate Mother’s Day on Monday 23rd March at 2.45pm.
Infants Abbot Hall / Blackwell Visit – Mrs Mather and our infant children have managed to secure a free school trip to Blackwell Arts and Craft House, in conjunction with Abbot Hall, to support our current clothing topic in school.
