Children have really welcomed getting back to normal routines this week, and welcoming the variety of activities we undertake on a daily basis! Pictures of what some of our children have been doing this week are on our Facebook page!
All families will receive their first Friday bag today. There are lots of forms and a lot of information to read and respond to, it may be worth flicking the kettle on and finding a pen! Please return all forms in the Friday bag on Monday morning, this way we will be able to quarantine the bags in school ready to update any information before swimming on Thursday. It is vital school has the most up to date information for all children. Thank you!

COVID ‘19 – our website has lot of information and guidance for you to refer to, please take a look. Children have coped well this week with the additional measures that we have put in place and we continue to be vigilant in school.  Please do not send your child to school if they are unwell in any way.

Forms, Forms, Forms – at this time of year we have to send home a number of forms to check that we are holding all the correct information about our pupils.  Enclosed in the bags this week is a form titled Parental/Carer Consent and Medical Information Form for Educational Visits and Adventurous Activities.  This form is for the whole academic year and will cover local and low risk visits made by the children, for example, museum visits, local school visits, local walks and days out.  For anything else, such as residential or farm visits, we will seek further permission from you.  Although you are only completing one form for all the low risk activities we will send home an information sheet each time to keep you informed of the activities.
Also included in the bag is a Pupil Data Collection Sheet for each child.  This form will be used to update the information we currently hold on the school database for your child(ren).  It is important we have the most up-to-date information, so please do let us know if anything changes during the year.

Photograph Permission – enclosed in today’s Friday bag is a permission for photographs letter, please read and return by Monday. Thank you.

Nasal Flu Vaccination – all pupils will find a letter from the NHS Immunisation team in today’s Friday bag. They require you to indicate if you are happy or not for your child to be given the immunisation in school. Please return all forms by Monday. If we don’t receive the form in time your child may not be able to have the vaccine.  Thank you.

Class Newsletters – in this week’s bag, you will have separate infant and/or junior autumn term class newsletters giving you specific information on the focus of studies for this term.

Juniors Morecambe Football Multi-Skills – the juniors all had a brilliant session with Morecambe football. They practised some key skills and enjoyed a 7-a-side match just as the weather turned!  Please can you wash and return all PE kits on Monday. An extra pair of socks in PE bags would be very useful!

Infants Forest School Afternoon – the infants had a wonderful afternoon at Forest School with Mrs Mather. They wandered the school grounds finding and identifying different plants before a session in the woods.

PTFA News – we have arranged a Bag2School for Tuesday 22nd September.
You will find some bags enclosed today. They accept good quality adult and children’s clothing, paired shoes, hats, bags, belts, ties and soft toys. No bedding, curtains, towels or bric-a-brac please. Bags should be brought to school before 9am, and can be left next to the shed at the top of the car park.

Threadworms – there has been a case of threadworms reported in school. Please remind your child to wash their hands regularly at home.
The NHS guidelines are as follows: If you think you or your child may have threadworms, you can usually treat the infection yourself with medication available at pharmacies without a prescription. You only need to see your GP if you think you have threadworms and you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you think your child has threadworms and they’re under two years old. In these circumstances, the recommended treatment is usually different.
