21st May 2021
We’ve had a busy week in school. We all enjoyed a walk out to Springs Wood on Tuesday afternoon, to look for, and sketch the signs of Spring. The weather was lovely and all children enjoyed spending the afternoon outside drawing.
On Wednesday our infant children went out on their first school trip of the year to the Dales Countryside Museum. They had a go at making and tasting butter and then spent an hour in the museum. We would like to thank the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority for organising this trip for our children, and part funding the cost of transport to make the trip affordable for parents.
Soccer Hub Coaching – on Monday, Soccer Hub will be coming to school to deliver some Soccer Tots training with our infant and nursery children. Please can we ask that our nursery children come to school in suitable ‘PE’ style clothing and trainers. Please ensure all infant children have their outdoor PE kit and trainers in school. Thank you.
Infants Forest School – our infants will be continuing their Forest School journey on Tuesday afternoon. With the ever changing weather, please send children in appropriate clothing. The current forecast suggests raincoats, waterproof trousers and wellies!
Design a Stamp for Royal Mail – next week children will be designing stamps for the Royal Mail Heroes Stamp Competition. Please read the attached letter with all information about the competition, and let us know as soon as possible if you DO NOT want your child/ren’s entry to be submitted. All entries will be posted by Wednesday 26th May to meet the deadline. Thank you.
SchoolMoney – there are a few SchoolMoney accounts that have quite high balances, please can parents log in and try to keep balances to a minimum. Month end account statements will be sent out next Friday.
PTFA News –
Mufti-Day – next Friday we are inviting all children to come to school in their own clothes, in return for £1.00 donation to the PTFA.
Tuck Shop – at the end of the school day, the PTFA will also have some pre-packed pick ‘n’ mix bags of sweets – for 20p or 50p each.
Volunteers – we have had a couple of volunteers come forward to offer their services to the PTFA, but we will always need more.
Money raised by the PTFA benefits all children in school, by subsidising the cost of trips, providing funds for transport and most recently agreeing to help with funds to restore the vegetable patch. We are very grateful to the PTFA for all they do, and it would be a real shame to see it diminish due to lack of volunteers.
