11th June 2021
We have had a great first week back! This week we have welcomed Reed into nursery who will start in Reception with some of our other nursery children in September. We are sure Reed will be very happy here.
This week all children enjoyed taking part in the Yorkshire Dales National Park Association workshop where we learnt how to read OS maps, the junior children planned their own route and ventured out into the fields surrounding Leck. We would like to thank Rebecca for joining us on Tuesday and for the excellent opportunity.
On Monday morning, our nursery and infant children continued with their football skills with Emma from Soccer Hub Coaching – please could we ask that nursery children come to school in outdoor PE appropriate clothing and trainers and that all infant children have their outdoor PE kit returned to school.
On Wednesday, we welcomed Scott from Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club back to school; some of the upper juniors will remember Scott from our PE sessions a couple of years ago. While it is also great that some of our junior children train with KLRUFC out of school, please can we ask that children wear their correct PE kit in school, rather than their rugby training kits. Thank you.
On Friday, the Life Education team visited and all children enjoyed their sessions.
Face Coverings – we would like to remind parents (and grandparents, childminders etc.) to wear a face covering on school grounds, this includes when dropping children off at Early Morning Club. Guidance for schools hasn’t changed even though there has been some easing outside of school. Thank you.
Infant Class Newsletter – attached is a class newsletter for all infant children, giving you specific information on the focus of studies for this half term.
Teams Homework – attached today is a letter from Mrs Tidd regarding junior homework.
Tower Wood – unfortunately, the junior Tower Wood visit has been cancelled again due to lack of instructors available on the day. We were offered alternative dates, but Tower Wood still couldn’t find instructors. We look forward to returning early in the new academic year.
SchoolMoney – there are still a number of children with outstanding amounts, please let us know if you are having trouble accessing your SchoolMoney account and we can look into this. Thank you.
Infants Forest School – on Tuesday afternoon, all infants will be continuing their forest school journey. Please can we ask that children come to school appropriately dressed for the ever-changing weather.
School Photos – next Friday afternoon, Tempest Photography will be coming to school to take whole school, individual and family photographs.
