10th September 2021
The children have all had a great first full week back! We also welcomed back our nursery children, with two new additions, Henry and Noah.
We’ve had a busy week; the Reception and Nursery children enjoyed their first Diddi Dance session with Nicola on Monday and all the infants enjoyed baking on Tuesday.
The juniors started their Morecambe Football session on Tuesday afternoon, please ensure an outdoor PE kit and trainers are available in school for these sessions. The junior class also had a brilliant day at Westmorland Show on Wednesday. We were blessed with the sunshine and we all enjoyed seeing a variety of animals and tasting new foods. Pictures have been uploaded to our Facebook page. On Thursday afternoon, Y3, 4 and 5 went swimming. Next week children will be placed in groups dependent on their swimming ability.
All families will receive their first Friday bag today. There are lots of forms and a lot of information to read and respond to, it may be worth flicking the kettle on and finding a pen! Please return all forms in the Friday bag on Monday morning. It is vital school has the most up to date information for all children. Thank you!
Forms, Forms, Forms – at this time of year we have to send home a number of forms to check that we are holding all the correct information about our pupils. Enclosed in the bags this week is a form titled Parental/Carer Consent and Medical Information Form for Educational Visits and Adventurous Activities. This form is for the whole academic year and will cover local and low risk visits made by the children, for example, museum visits, local school visits, local walks and days out. For anything else, such as residential or farm visits, we will seek further permission from you. Although you are only completing one form for all the low risk activities we will send home an information sheet each time to keep you informed of the activities.
Also included in the bag is a Pupil Data Collection Sheet for each child. This form will be used to update the information we currently hold on the school database for your child(ren). It is important we have the most up-to-date information, so please do let us know if anything changes during the year.
Photograph Permission – also enclosed in the Friday bag is a permission for photographs letter, please read and return by Monday. We have altered this form to last the duration of your child/ren’s school life at Leck – one less annual return form next year!
After-School Care – Mrs Lawson has informed us this week that she will no longer be able to provide after school care on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – this is due to having just one child booked per day. The daily cost of running the after-school club is not viable when the need is not there.
High 5 Club – Mrs Jones will be running an early morning Netball Club for the upper junior children. This will start at 8.15am from Friday 17th September, initially up to half-term. Children should come to school in appropriate kit and footwear, with their school uniform in a bag to get changed into before registration. Please respond via email – bursar@leck-st-peters.lancs.sch.uk – to let us know if your child/ren will be attending. Payment of £2.00 per session will be made available on SchoolMoney.
SchoolMoney – payment for school meals, early morning club and any trips should be made using the SchoolMoney service, this is the preferred method of payment. If you have any problems logging in please get in touch via email bursar@leck-st-peters.lancs.sch.uk and we will be happy to assist.
