17th September 2021
We’ve had another great week in school! We had our first visitor in on Thursday to lead an assembly, we were all very happy to see Rev Wendy Thornton and look forward to welcoming her back each month.
Mrs Jones’ first netball club was enjoyed by all who attended, although we don’t currently have enough children to play a match, therefore, any Y4 children who wish to attend should let Mrs Knapp know.
Next Tuesday, we will have two new children joining school, Mason & Hunter in Y3 and Reception. We hope they will enjoy their time here at Leck.
Thank you for the prompt return of Friday bags this week, we will only be sending Friday bags home when there is important information which needs acting upon (e.g. forms). Any outstanding should be returned on Monday.
School Times – please may we politely remind everyone that school starts at 9am and finishes at 3.15pm. School doors are open from 8.50am and all children should be in school ready for lessons by 9am.
REMINDER: Medical, Pupil Data & Photo Permission Forms – many thanks to all those who have completed these forms. If you haven’t yet completed, please return them as soon as possible. It is very important that we have correct information available at all times, therefore, if any information changes throughout the school year, please do remember to update the school office. Please return all completed forms by Monday at the latest – thank you. If we do not have the correct forms returned for each child, they may not be able to take part in trips & visits.
Covid-19 – as we are all aware the virus is still very much present in the community. We continue to operate under Covid-19 restrictions. Parents should continue to monitor their children’s health and not send them into school if they are unwell in any way. If they are presenting with any of the classic symptoms of Covid-19 (a high temperature of 37.8°C or above, a new continuous cough and/or change to sense of taste and smell) please take them for a PCR test. We will continue to ask you to take children for a PCR test if they display these symptoms as well as some of the other symptoms common in children such as headache, sore throat and tummy pain. Thank you for supporting us in the return to school and in trying to lower transmission amongst our community.
Tower Wood – next Monday the junior class will be visiting Tower Wood Outdoor Centre. This activity centre on the shores of Lake Windermere offers a wide range of both land and water based activities, perfect for a day’s adventure! There will be no charge for these trips, school will be covering the cost of both transport and instructors. Children should wear their own warm clothes, outdoor shoes or boots and will need a waterproof coat. Waterproof trousers would also be useful if they have them. They will require a packed lunch. We have a full day planned and will not be back at school until 5.15pm. An information sheet is attached. Should anyone have any concerns or queries please speak to Mr Stafford-Roberts.
High 5 Club – Friday morning – children should come to school in appropriate kit and footwear, with their school uniform in a bag to get changed into before registration. Children will be given drinks / fruit / snack after the session.
Lancaster Trip – children from Reception through to Year 6 will be going on a whole school trip to Lancaster on Tuesday 19th October. The infants will be heading to Judges Lodgings and the juniors will be visiting the City Museum. In the afternoon, the children will meet to visit the Roman Baths.
This visit aids the children’s topic work. The cost of the trip is £7.50 per child and payment will be made available via SchoolMoney.

The consent process has been streamlined this year and is now online. Please have a read and respond appropriately.
