Welcome Back! – a very Happy New Year to you and your families, we hope that you’ve all enjoyed the festivities over the holidays! We would all like to say a big thank you to all the children and parents who sent in lovely cards and gifts for the staff at Christmas – they were very much appreciated!  It has been lovely to see all the children excited to be back at school and seeing all their friends after the Christmas break.
This week we have welcomed Arabella to Y1, she has settled in nicely and we are sure she will be very happy here.

Parent Letter – we sent a parent email regarding current Covid guidance yesterday, please let us know if you haven’t received it. This guidance should be followed by all families, and we thank you in anticipation of your support with this.

Class Newsletters – please find attached a separate infant and junior class newsletter giving you specific information on the focus of studies for this term.

Newspaper – please consider saving and donating any newspapers to school for our Art and Literacy projects. The upper junior children will all need a newspaper each for their journalistic writing topic next week. Thank you.  

Walk 2 School – our next Walk to School is on Tuesday 11th January. As always, any children taking part will enjoy breakfast together when they arrive at school. We will meet at 8.20am in the carpark at the back of Cowan Bridge Village Stores.

Dance – junior children will have dance lessons on Tuesday afternoons from Tuesday 11th January throughout the spring term. Please make sure they have their PE kits in school.

After School Games Club – the after-school games club got off to a great start this week, with children enjoying playing and learning the rules of dodgeball. Each week will be different, with some indoor games and some outside – weather dependant. If your child wishes to join, please let us know at the office. Thank you.   

Swimming – sessions will re-commence on Thursday 13th January, please help your child/ren to remember to bring their kit into school.

School Admissions September 2022 – primary school applications close next Saturday (15th January), please apply via your local county council website, if this is Lancashire County Council visit www.lancashire.gov.uk and search “school admissions”.

KS1 Multi Skills – our Y1 & 2 children will be attending a Multi Skills event at Caton on Monday 17th January. Please make sure the children have their PE kit in school along with a warm sweatshirt and jogging bottoms. They should also bring a named bottle of water. Thank you. A full information sheet will be attached next week.

Edinburgh Residential Visit – we’re looking ahead to the summer months already and, in particular, the residential visit in June! Just to remind parents that the final balance will need to be paid before the end of March. Regular payments, or indeed full payment, can be made anytime between now and then using the online SchoolMoney system. Thank you.
