Infants Forest School Day Arnside

Reminder that on Monday 23rd May infants from both Leck St Peter’s and Hornby St Margaret’s will be visiting Arnside to go fossil hunting and have a ‘Forest Schools Day’. Please could the children bring an old toothbrush if possible for the fossils.

 

PTFA Meeting

There will be a PTFA meeting on Monday 23rd May at 2.15pm at School.

 

LEAP Cookery

Two year 5 pupils have been chosen to join children from other local schools for a Cookery Event at Wennington Hall School on Thursday 26th May in the morning.  Information sheets and disclaimer forms are included in the Friday bags for these children. Please return the disclaimer forms on Monday so they can take part.

 

Malham Residential Meeting

There will be a Parents meeting for the above trip on Thursday 26th May 6.30pm – 7.30pm at School. There is an additional letter this week for parents of children not staying at Malham.

 

Walk to School Day

On Friday 27th May we will be having another walk to school day with Breakfast for the children. This will also be a Mufti Day £1 donation per child for the PTFA. There will also be a Cake Sale at 3.15pm. Any donations of cakes for this will be greatly appreciated.

 

Mindfulness Colouring Club New

After half term Film Club will be replaced by a new Mindfulness Colouring Club on Tuesday’s afterschool. Please sign below if your child wishes to attend.

 

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

On Tuesday 7th June as part of Arts Week; School will be visiting Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Children will need to arrive at school for 8.30am and will return to school at around 4.30pm. Park details can be found at www.ysp.co.uk. Please see the visit sheet in your child’s Friday bag for more details of the trip.

 

Open Afternoon & Queens Tea Party  

On Thursday 9th June we are inviting parents, family, friends & neighbours all to join us for an Open Afternoon starting at 1.30pm. We will be having a Queen themed act and a dress code of red, white & blue. If anyone can display a poster to advertise this event we would be very grateful. We are asking for donations of the following from each year group: Year 1 Crisps & Dips, Year 2 Sandwiches, Year 3 Orange juice & Lemonade, Year 4 Biscuits, Year 5 Cake, Year 6 Scones & Cream.

 

Arts Week

Arts Week will be running from Monday 13th June through to Thursday 16th June with an exhibition of the children’s work on the Thursday afternoon. As part of arts week we need some plastic bottles (without handles), squash bottles and anything similar would be ideal. We also need coloured plastic bottle lids of various sizes. Many thanks for your help.

 

Euro Cup 2016

Each child will be choosing a Football team in the Euro Cup to follow throughout the competition. They will research information about their chosen Team and Country. We will have daily updates on the results with winning teams receiving prizes!

 

School Uniform

School Uniform is available to order via the enclosed order form or online direct from the suppliers. For more information regarding online ordering please speak to Emma Galley on 07912103662. It is lovely to see our children looking smart in their school uniforms. It is especially important for them to look tidy and smart in the coming weeks when we are out and about on visits representing our School.

 

Headlice

There has been a reported case of headlice in school this week. Please remember to check your child’s hair regularly and treat where necessary. Advice on treating headlice is available through the school nurse at Carnforth Clinic 01524 738906

 

Golf Club

Nick, the golf coach has managed to squeeze in a last session for next Thursday even though he was due to finish this week. This will be the final session for golf. We will assume all club children will continue to come next week unless you let us know otherwise.
