Junior Children – Spelling Books
All junior children must have their spelling books in school on Mondays, please help to remind them, thanks.

Helen Howard School of Dance
We are pleased to report that Helen Howard School of dance classes will go ahead. The sessions will run every Tuesday from 27th September 3.15-4.15pm until the Christmas break.  Sessions are great value at £3 and full payment of £36 is needed before Tuesday. Please return your payment made payable to Helen Howard in the Friday bag on Monday.  If you didn’t reply but your child/ren would like to attend they are more than welcome, please complete the slip and send payment and we will add them to the list.   Children can wear their PE kit or a dance uniform if they have one, usual PE guidelines apply, long hair tied up and no jewellery. If you are able to send them with a water bottle that would be helpful.

School Photographer
The school photographer is coming at 1.15pm on Tuesday 27th September to take individual and family group photographs. Any families with younger siblings are very welcome to come into school at 1.15pm to join their older brother and sisters.

Walk to School Breakfast Trek
The next “Walk to School” will be on Thursday 29th September at 8.20am from Cowan Bridge Village Hall.  Those taking part will be rewarded with crumpets and orange juice.  Independent walkers are very welcome to join the breakfast, but will need to be at school by 8.30am.

PTFA Meeting Your PTFA needs you!
The PTFA will be meeting on Thursday 29th September at 1.45pm in school.  Please do try to come along as we desperately need new members.  Most meetings there has only been the same 3 parents present, we really do need and value your support.
As most of you are aware we don’t have a chair person for our PTFA at the moment, if anyone is able to take on this role or get involved in any other way it would be very much appreciated. For an idea of what’s involved please don’t hesitate to chat to Mr Stafford-Roberts, Vanessa Christie or Jenny Low.

Infant trip to Clitheroe Castle
Our infant class will be joining Hornby school infants for a trip to Clitheroe Castle on Friday 30th September to support this half terms castle topic.  Children will need to bring a packed lunch and drink in a small rucksack.  A full information sheet is enclosed in todays Friday bag.

Infant Class Reading Helpers
Our infant class are in need of some helpers.  If parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles or friends are able to spare some time to come in and listen to children read we would be very grateful.  Please get in touch if you can help, many thanks.

Parents Night Out
Please let Diane Lawson know if you can come along to a parents night out on Saturday 15th October.

Young Voices – Manchester Arena – 10th February 2017
Mrs Barker at Hornby School has organised an exciting opportunity for the junior children of both Leck St Peters and Hornby to take part in the UK’s biggest school’s concert.  It is on Friday, 10th February 2017, at the Manchester Arena.  The rehearsal is in the daytime with an evening concert.   School will organise a bus to take all the children and parents are invited to the concert in the evening, further information will follow.  We will return around 10.30 to 11pm.  We need to book our place by next Friday 30th September and therefore need to know if any children will not be able to attend.  Please complete the slip at the end of the newsletter and return in the bag on Monday.
