Summer Term – Edition 30
What a beautiful and sunny week it’s been at school – hopefully we’ll see some of the same for the half term holidays!
Over the weekend our yurt was rebuilt, a huge thank you to the parent volunteers who took the time to come and help us, we really do appreciate it. The Lower Juniors were out on Tuesday at the Walking in the Kingdom of Light event at Bentham Methodist Chapel, it was a morning full of arts and crafts as they travelled around various ‘prayer stations’ in relation to the theme.
Infant Baking – will resume on Monday 4th June starting with Neve, Thomas & Megan. The infants will be cooking in groups, on a rota basis, on Monday mornings. This terms bake is Iced Fairy Cakes, in this week’s bag, you will find a letter from Mrs Mather with full details and ingredients.
Whole School Photo – a copy of our whole school photo is enclosed. If you wish to order a copy the cost is £11.50 and can be ordered online or through the office, please place any order by Tuesday 5th June. Please make cheques payable to Leck St Peters School.
Y5 Global Day – children from Y5 have been invited to join other local schools in a Global Day on Wednesday 6th June. A full information sheet is included in this week’s Friday bag.
Kwik Cricket Tournament at Westgate & Torrisholme Cricket Club – the Upper Juniors will be taking part in a Kwik Cricket competition at Westgate and Torrisholme Cricket Club on Thursday 7th June, a full information sheet is included in this week’s Friday bag for those children involved.
Fitness Fun Club – we are running a Fitness Fun Club with Mrs J Eccleston on a Wednesday afternoon from 6th June at 3.15-4.45pm. As Wednesday was our most popular day, it will run for 6 sessions as opposed to 7 due to the Arnside residential taking place on 4th July and will start the first week back after half-term. If any children would like to join who haven’t already told us, please return the reply slip at the bottom of the newsletter alongside payment of £30, thank you.
Mindfulness Colouring Club – Mrs Mather will be running this club on a Thursdays from 7th June from 3.15-4.15pm. It will take place in the Yurt (or outside if the weather is nice), and is chance for a nice relaxed chat with friends – juice and biscuits will be provided. This club is open to all and is £2 per session, payable in advance to Lancashire County Council. Parents of those children interested should complete and return the permission slip at the bottom of the newsletter. Please note there will be no club on 5th July due to the Arnside residential.
Leck Playgroup Visit – Leck playgroup will be visiting school on Friday 15th June from 9.30am – 11.30am, please feel free to stay with younger siblings and tell any friends and family members to come along too.
Summer Fun – we are on the lookout for beachy / summer items for our infant role-play area, this could include rubber rings, beach balls, arm bands, flip flops etc. Please send any donations in to school at the start of next term, thank you.
GDPR – as I am sure you’ll all be aware, the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into force from Friday 25th May, replacing the Data Protection Act.
