Summer Term – Edition 32
Well it has been a rather busy morning in school today – many thanks to all the parents, babies and toddlers who joined us for the morning; we hope you all enjoyed yourselves.
We have another busy week in school next week, and a very busy half term so please do keep an eye on the date list at the end of each newsletter as new dates are continually being added.
Missing Watch – please could all parents keep an eye out for a missing black digital watch which belongs to one of the junior children, in case it has accidentally been taken home.
Arnside Residential Parents’ Information Evening – many thanks to all the parents who attended the information evening at Hornby St Margaret’s last Tuesday, all information is enclosed in today’s Friday bag for those who couldn’t make it.
Forest School – next Monday 18th June, will be our final forest school session of this academic year and we are going to be cooking our own lunch in the woods, for this each child will need a breakfast muffin or bun, a slice of ham, an egg and an empty and clean tuna tin. If your child doesn’t like either of these, they can bring a slice of cheese instead. They also need a banana, chocolate buttons and a few small marshmallows.
We will also be spending some time down at springs wood doing some plant identification and sketches, please send appropriate footwear. Many thanks.
KLRUFC Rugby Tournament – our Y4, 5 & 6 children have been invited to take part in a rugby tournament with children from other local schools on Wednesday 20th June at Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club. Parents are able to watch from 1.00pm. A full information sheet is enclosed for those involved.
Rounders Tournament – our upper junior children will be taking part in a cluster rounders tournament at Hornby St Margaret’s next Friday 22nd June.
If any parents can volunteer to transport the children it would be greatly appreciated. Children can also be dropped off at Hornby St Margaret’s if this is more convenient for you, however, we would still need volunteers to help transport them back at lunchtime. Please let us know in the office as soon as possible. A full information sheet is enclosed for those involved.
Arts Week – 25th June 2018 – we are seeking any artistic volunteers who could kindly donate an hour or two of their time to come in and share some of their arty skills with all the children during the week (commencing 25th June), please see a member of staff if you are able to help. Thank you in advance.
The Great Leck St Peter’s Bake Off – please find enclosed a letter from the School Council team regarding an event they are planning for later in the summer term. There is a reply slip attached at the bottom of the newsletter to give us an idea of how many people would like to take part – please fill out and return to us as soon as you can.
New Uniform – there will be a uniform order going in on Friday 29th June, any parents needing new uniform for September should collect an order form from the office and return it ASAP. Many thanks.
PTFA Sponsored Walk – the PTFA want to run a Sponsored Walk & Jacobs Join on Friday 29th June, please respond on the slip at the bottom if your child(ren) would like to take part in this event. This event will only be able to take place if we have enough volunteers to help us, both on the walk and to set things up at school for the Jacobs Join too. Thank you.
Parent / Carers Night Out – a night out has been arranged for the Saturday 14th July. If you are interested, please let Amanda Park know.
