Summer Term – Edition 34
It’s been a lovely week all round this week, the weather really helped with our Arts week, and we managed to do everything we’d hoped. Thank you to our parent helpers, Mrs Christie and Mrs Pearson, for coming into school and sharing their arty expertise. We hope you were as impressed as we were with all the children’s work.
The KS2 children had a great morning at ‘The Big Sing’, they all sang their hearts out and were a real credit to the school; their manners and behaviour were impeccable. Well done children!
Next Wednesday, we have invited our Reception ’18 intake to stay for the full day and have lunch with us; we hope Alexander, Thomas, Ruby, Euan, Harriet & Jake are all looking forward to it.
Mrs Kelly – it is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Mrs Kelly will be leaving us at the end of the summer term. Mrs Kelly has been a hugely valued member of the team for the past 16 years and will be sorely missed! We are sure you’ll join us in wishing her all the very best.
Arnside Residential – please remember all children going to Arnside will need to be in school ready to go at 8.50am on Wednesday morning, remember the kit list has everything listed which is needed, including a packed lunch for the first day. We hope all the children going will have an enjoyable time.
REMINDER – parents of children going to Arnside – last week your child’s medical form was in the Friday bag, please mark onto it any changes and return to the office for Monday – many thanks.
REMINDER: Leighton Moss Reserve – our whole school trip this year will take place at Leighton Moss Reserve on Thursday 5th July where the infants will meet the junior children who will be on their residential visit. The cost of the trip is £16.50 each, we are asking all infant parents to contribute £10.00 per child.
After School Care – we would like to invite any parents to a meeting on Wednesday 11th July either straight after sports day or at 5.30pm, to discuss after school care for September. There is a response slip at the bottom, please indicate which time would suit you better, it would be really beneficial if as many parents requiring after school care could attend as possible.
Early Morning Club – from 1st September the cost of Early Morning Club is increasing to £2.00 per session, this is not a decision we have taken lightly, but increasing pressure on school budgets has forced an increase. We know this still represents very good value for money.
REMINDER: Sun Protection – please remember sun hats and cream again next week, as the forecast suggests this glorious sunshine will continue.
REMINDER: Trophies – please can all trophies be returned to school ready for our end of year awards, please and thank you.
Welfare Assistant – we are currently looking for a welfare assistant, are you or anyone you know interested? We need someone to help serve meals and supervise the children during their midday break. The vacancy is term time only covering Friday from 11.15am – 1.15pm. Please contact either Mr Stafford-Roberts or the office for more details.
Parent / Carers Night Out – a night out has been arranged for the Saturday 14th July. If you are interested, please let Amanda Park know. There is a menu outside the office, please mark your choices on by 9th July.
