23rd April 2020
It has been a lovely week in school. The weather has been great and we have enjoyed our outdoor PE sessions. Please can we remind parents to ensure children have weather appropriate PE kit in school at all times.
This week we have seen children arriving at school either too early or late, and similarly at the end of the day, parents arriving late to collect their children. It is really important that all families stick to their allocated times for drop off and collection. We would also like to remind parents to wear a face covering on school grounds, this includes when dropping children off at Early Morning Club. Thank you.
REMINDER: Parent Help – we are still seeking volunteers for a list of outdoor jobs we have building up! We are looking for anyone who could pop in at weekends, evenings or even to stay for an hour after school drop off or pick up to help us tick a few of these jobs off. These include cleaning the yurt and weaving the willow, amongst others. Please let us know if you are able to offer any help, and when you will be able to come. Thanking you in anticipation.
Litter Pick – Mrs Mather has organised a fortnightly litter pick, which will start next Tuesday lunchtime. Please encourage children to sign up on the lists in their classrooms. This is part of our Eco Schools initiative.
The Daily Mile – on Friday 30th April, we will be joining children across the nation to celebrate the positive benefits daily activity can have on our mental health.
Infants Dairy Workshop – On Wednesday 19th May, our infant children will be going to the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes to take part in a ‘Make It and Taste It’ workshop. We are asking parents to contribute £5.00 per child towards the trip. Payment has been set up on our SchoolMoney system; please let me know if you need any help accessing your account. A full information sheet will be sent out nearer the time.
REMINDER: Young Artist Competition – the deadline for entries is Monday 26th April 2021.
PTFA News –
Bag2School Collection – thank you for all the donations received for our Bag2School collection. All money received benefits ALL children in school, so we are extremely grateful for all your efforts.
Volunteers – whilst we aren’t currently an active PTFA due to restrictions, we are still in need of parents to form the committee and have active roles in the organising of fundraising events and ideas. We are also in need of volunteers to become signatories on the bank account. For progression purposes, we will also be needing infant and lower junior parents to step in, as many of our active members currently have their youngest children in Y5, so won’t be here after next year.
