28th May 2021
We’ve come to the end of half term, with another busy week in school and the glimpse of some better weather. Fingers crossed it continues.
The infant and nursery children all enjoyed their first session with Emma from Soccer Hub Coaching, and are really looking forward to developing their skills after half term.
The infants also enjoyed their forest school session on Tuesday afternoon, where they made apostles from natural sources. We were also really pleased to receive our Woodland Trust Platinum Award through the post this week.
This week the junior children all enjoyed their orienteering activity and worked really well together in their pairings! They have also enjoyed their final swimming session at Hornby Pool, next half term we are looking forward to rugby!
Holidays in Term Time – we have recently been receiving a lot of requests for holidays and days out of school within term time. We are not able authorise these type of requests.
There are 13 weeks out of school time in order for these type of activities and holidays to take place.
Letter from Director of Public Health – attached is a letter we have been asked to share with parents to remind you of the steps we may need to take, which is aimed at keeping pupils and staff safe and minimising disruption to education.
Covid-19 – as a reminder, currently nothing has changed in school. We remain as two bubbles, staggering drop-off and pick-up times, continuous hand washing and mask wearing in communal areas. Recently we have had children arriving at school either too early or late, and similarly at the end of the day, parents arriving late to collect their children. It is really important that all families stick to their allocated times for drop off and collection.
We would also like to remind parents to wear a face covering on school grounds, this includes when dropping children off at Early Morning Club. Thank you.
Soccer Hub Coaching – Monday 7th June – please can we ask that our nursery children come to school in suitable ‘PE’ style clothing and trainers. Please ensure all infant children have their outdoor PE kit and trainers in school. Thank you.
YDNP Map Reading Workshop – Tuesday 8th June – throughout the day, all children in school will be take part in a map reading workshop with the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.
Junior Rugby – Wednesday 9th June – please can you ensure all junior children have appropriate outdoor PE kit and trainers in school following the half term break as we will be starting rugby with Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club.
Life Education Visit – Friday 11th June – once again, the Life Education team will be visiting school. Parents are more than welcome to attend the parent session at 8.55am to hear more information about the programme.
SchoolMoney – all parents will have been sent a text and / or email with their current balances. Please can we ask that these balances are cleared as soon as possible.
