3rd September 2021
Welcome back to school, and welcome to all our new children! It has been lovely to see our children return to school this week, they have all settled back in well and seem happy to be back surrounded by friends.
We are looking forward to welcoming Henry, Remy, Eirlys and Noah into Nursery next week.
It is our intention to continue to email the newsletter and other information, although there will be a Friday bag next week with all our annual return to school forms.
COVID-19 – with the change in regulations we will continue to monitor COVID-19 in school. We know from the recent research that children with COVID-19 display a range of symptoms, such as fever, headache and sore throat. Please keep your child at home if they are unwell and consider a PCR test if appropriate.
Infant Class Newsletter – please find attached an infant class newsletter giving you specific information on the focus of studies for this term.
Juniors – please can all junior children resume bringing a book bag or rucksack to and from school each day. Reading books will return to being sent home daily and their reading diaries should be signed by an adult. Thank you.
Healthy Snacks – all junior children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack to enjoy at morning playtime. We request that this is one of their five portions of fruit or veg a day. Any undesirable snacks will be sent home.
Diddi Dance – sessions for our Reception and Nursery children start on Monday morning at 10.00am.
Morecambe Football – football sessions resume next week. Please can we ask all parents to ensure their children have the correct outdoor PE kit in school. We intend to be outside during our lesson, whatever the weather, so please have tracksuit bottoms and a jumper in their kit just in case.
Infants & Nursery – please can all infant and nursery children bring in their favourite toy from home to share with the class on Wednesday morning. Thank you.
JUNIORS: Westmorland Show – all our junior children will be heading out on our first school trip next Wednesday 8th September, to the annual Westmorland County Show. The children will be exhibiting a large display of their work at the show.
We are asking parents for a £5.00 contribution towards the cost of the day. This goes towards the cost of transport to the show. Please make payment online via SchoolMoney by Monday given the proximity of the trip.
We appreciate that some families will be attending the show and if you would prefer your child/ren to go with you as a family unit rather than as part of the school trip, please let us know. Infant children can also go with their family if you wish.
More information and a kit list is on the information sheet attached.
Swimming Lessons – begin this Thursday for Y3, 4 & 5 so please ensure that your child has their swimming kit with them, and every week. Boys should wear skin tight swimming trunks (not shorts), and girls should be wearing costumes with their hair tied back or swimming caps wherever possible. There is a goggles permission letter from Lune Valley Swimming Pool attached, if you wish your child to wear goggles please ensure the letter is signed and returned before Thursday.
