1st October 2021
We have had another quiet week in school. Some of the junior children were due to take part in the Cross Country event at Tatham Fells last Monday. Unfortunately, it was cancelled because of the autumnal weather. We hope to have this rearranged at a later date.
All children enjoyed the Harvest Activity Day activities which took place on Tuesday, we have added some pictures to our Facebook page.
Film club was well attended on Tuesday after school, children will continue to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip this week.
It was a rather wet Infants Forest School session on Thursday, but the children really enjoyed making a shelter in the woods and all got a warming hot chocolate to finish the day.
Parent Meetings – we plan to hold parent meetings virtually again this term on Wednesday 13th October using Microsoft Teams.
Meetings will last a maximum of 10 minutes. We will email you a time and link for your meeting next week.
Young Voices – Manchester Arena – 7th February 2022. We are organising an exciting opportunity for the junior children to take part in the UK’s biggest school’s concert.
School will organise a bus to take all the children. Parents are invited to the concert in the evening, further information regarding tickets will follow. We will return to school around 11pm, children will be able to come into school a little later on Tuesday morning. We have provisionally booked places for all junior pupils and therefore need to know if any children will not be attending. Please email bursar@leck-st-peters.lancs.sch.uk if you do not wish for your child/ren to participate.
Parents may remember some of our previous Year 6 leavers talking about this event as a fantastic opportunity that they really enjoyed!
Year 5 & 6 Residential – we have booked the Youth Hostel in Edinburgh from Wednesday 22nd June to Friday 24th June for our upper junior residential, more information will follow next week.
REMINDER: Annual Flu Spray – an email from Blackpool Teaching Hospitals School Age Vaccination Team regarding the Flu Nasal Spray was sent to all parents / guardians on 17th September. Please may we remind you to complete the consent online as soon as possible. The vaccination team will be in school on the morning of Wednesday 20th October to administer the nasal sprays.
NEXT FRIDAY: PTFA Film Night – please send payment for tickets in a named envelope by Friday (£2.00 per child) – which includes drink & sweets.
A list of the potential films has been posted in the parent messenger group and the children will decide on the night.
REMINDER: PTFA 100 Club – the PTFA are keen to set up an ongoing club 100 and would like to gauge an idea of how many numbers would need to be available.
Please also share with any family members and friends who might be interested and email bursar@leck-st-peters.lancs.sch.uk to let us know the number of tickets you’d like.
What is a 100 Club? Subscribers buy numbered tickets that are entered into a draw at regular intervals – usually once a month.
Typically, 100 tickets are available (hence the name). Players (parents, teachers and friends of the school) pay a fixed subscription for their number (or numbers), and a percentage of the profits makes up the monthly prize(s), with the remainder going directly to PTFA funds.
We are aiming for this to be set up and ready for a draw to take place in November.
