KS2 Health Day – Tuesday 20th October
As part of our KS2 Science project on healthy eating we are having a Health Day on Tuesday 20th October. The children have designed and planned a healthy salad and should have brought home a list of ingredients. Could you please support the children by providing their share of the ingredients, please also supply a healthy lunch to go in the cardboard lunchbox your child made; both for the Tuesday 20th October. There will be no school lunch provided for KS2 on this day. Another activity planned for the day is an exploration of movement and breathing presented by Laura Mawdsley. The theme of this will be ‘rainforests’ which links into our geography topic.
KS2 Fairtrade
In geography the children have been learning about Fairtrade and on Wednesday 21st October, Mrs Saunders from Kirkby Lonsdale Fairtrade, will be coming into school to talk to the children. She will also be selling Fairtrade products after school. These will consist mainly of Fairtrade biscuits and Fairtrade chocolate. As a concession to the children these will be reduced to 50p, could you please supply your child with some money with which they can support this worthwhile organisation.
Football Club
Please make sure your child’s PE kit and trainers are in school for the Morecambe Football Club sports session on Tuesday. Given our ever changing weather, please always ensure your child has tracksuit bottoms or similar, a warm top and a waterproof in school just in case!
Christmas Club
After half term Mrs Mather will be starting a Christmas Club. The club will run at lunchtimes on a Tuesday and we’ll be making Christmas crafts. The cost for 7 weeks is £7.50 which covers all materials. Please reply on Monday by completing the form at the end of the newsletter so that resources can be ordered. Many thanks.

It works by parents and family members using easyfundraising.org.uk as a first step to find the retailer they want to buy from online. When you visit a website to buy something via this page it will register your sale. Easy fundraising will receive a donation based on the value of your order which will be passed onto your chosen charity or school. All you need to do is create an account on www.easyfundraising.org.uk; log onto the website and set your cause to St Peters C E Primary School Leck. Use www.easyfundraising.org.uk as your search engine every time you want to purchase something online. You could set it as your home page so you don’t forget. The PFTA have provided some more information which is in your Friday bag.
